Boating Atlantic, formerly known as the Atlantic Marine Trades Association (AMTA), is the official voice of the recreational boating industry in Canada’s Maritime Provinces. It is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote the sport of recreational boating and support its members in their endeavours. Members include manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, dealers and brokers of yachts, boats, engines and accessories, as well as marina operators, recreational marine service providers and other boating-related organizations. Boating Atlantic is the owner of the Halifax International Boat Show and a partner in Discover Boating, a national initiative to attract more people to the recreational boating lifestyle.
NMEA’s mission is to promote the technical marine electronics dealer through education, communication, training and certification; strengthen the industry’s reputation in the marketplace through industry standards and recognition of excellence; and promote good business management and fair business practices among its members. It also encourages the industry to hire highly skilled and qualified technical service personnel and educate the boating public through publications and seminars to promote the safe and proper use of marine electronic equipment. NMEA believes that the long term profitable growth of the association is a worthwhile objective—that can be achieved only in a meaningful partnership with every member dedicated to improving the marine electronics industry.

- representing the boatbuilding industry at various government levels
- providing technical and market advice to boatbuilders.
The goal of the National Marine Distributors Association (NMDA) is to improve the business conditions of wholesale distributors of marine accessories and of the marine industry in general. They foster cooperation among manufacturers, distributors and retailers in the marine industry. They assist in improving the productivity, profitability and performance of businesses.
